I am wondering who would be considered that most popular politicians on a state by state basis as of this point in 2004? This would be at the state level, not presidential, but can include senators, judges like Moore from Alabama, congressman, governors, attorneys general (sp?), state reps, retired politicians, etc? This should be regardless of political affiliation. There has been much talk about Rendell from PA leading candidates to victory, but from what I have read, his polling is near 50% job approval, where I rarely hear people cite Gov. Bredesen as a potential senator, leader of Kerry effort in TN, etc., while his job approval is at something like 65%.
