Breaking News: Check out
this post from everyone's favorite extreme right-wing website:
"If you are a central figure in a news story, or purported news story, who tried to contact me in my office last week, my secretary apparently took down your number wrong--when I returned the call, the number was out of service. Try me again."
Clearly, this was Gannon. The emphasized portion is the ringer. One right-wing hack calling another for help. Wonder if Hindrocket (pretty appropriate name) was an old customer of Bulldog's.
For those who don't know, PowerLine is the blog that broke the so-called RatherGate story. Since then, the PowerLine boys have taken to becoming little brown-shirts ready to defame anyone who disagrees with Bush administration policy. In
this post, the appropriately named Hindrocket lobs a bunch of accusations against former President Carter to support his claim that President Carter supports "the other side."
When a right-wing emailer writes in to note that at least one of the claims is absolutely bunk, Hindrocket states: "But, as I say, this is not an area in which I am an expert. Let's hear from more historians on this point. . ."
So Hindrocket's apparent philosophy is lob accusations of treason now, and then find the facts to support the accusations later. Sounds just like our friend Jeff, doesn't he? No wonder Jeff was contacting him.
Update [2005-2-20 2:20:14 by NewDem]: Can I get some recommendations here? I am not one to beg for recs (this is my first diary after all), but it looks like I am getting a lot of comments. Would love to get in the recommended category. Thanks.
