As one who knows about police supression/FBI first hand, I find the idea of the return of this type of goverment activity disturbing at the very least, if not dowright scary at the most. In Puerto Rico thousands of files were created by the police on all types of people, not only pro-indepence activist<sp?>, but artist, and activist who expressed views not friendly to the colonial goverment.
This led directly to the execution of several college students who were tricked into a plan to bomb a communications tower and instead found themselves in an ambush and execution by a police death squad. Although the members of the squad were prosecuted, the colonial officials and federal agents involved remain untouched.
