A "union source" tells me that the
AFSCME 3800 union, on strike for 2 weeks has agreed to a contract with the University of Minnesota. There will be a press conference at noon to annouce this. It sounds like it is not a complete victory, but the University did compromise on some contract language demands and re-instated step increases for the second year of the contract.
Thanks to everyone here on Daily Kos who supported the union during their struggle.
In other news, the AFSCME 3260 union at the U of M was set to go out on strike today. I'm not sure if they've also agreed with this contract.
