Armstrong Williams, the man disgraced for secretly taking pay from the White House, also ranted and raved against the same-sex lifestyle. However, as Raw Story and several Blogs report, he is gay himself and settled a gay sexual harassment case several years ago.
Williams has repeatedly blasted NAACP for their alleged sexual harassment. However, he was guilty of the exact same thing back in 1997. Blue Lemur reports:
In 1997, Williams was sued in a massive $200,000 50-charge sexual harassment suit for repeatedly kissing his once male trainer Stephen Gregory who he had promoted repeatedly into his talk-show staff. Gregory claimed Williams had also grabbed his buttocks and genitals and climbed into bed with him on business trips. After rebuffing him, Gregory alleged, the pundit retaliated by reducing his pay and subsequently firing him.
At the time, the Williams had just teased an explosive quote from then-Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott who said that gays should be treated like those who have a problem with "alcohol ... or sex addiction ... or kleptomaniacs."
Given the fact that Raw Story has outed several other rabid anti-gay conservatives, I am starting to wonder anytime I hear a rabid anti-gay person speak if they are secretly gay themselves. I suggest that many people who repress their sexuality behind a wall of religious prohibition act irrationally because of that person's subconscious frustration at being unable to express themselves sexually.
Eloquent Fury quotes a study which backs my suggestion that many rabid gay-bashers are secretly gay themselves:

In a recent study on the homosexuality of homophobes, conducted at the University of Georgia at Athens, male college students watched gay and heterosexual porno films. Their erections were electronically measured as they reacted. The men who did not gay bash were flaccid as they viewed gay porno. The gay bashers were FULLY ERECT as they watched those same gay porno films.
Williams' endorsement of Trent Lott's remark about gays being kleptomaniacs is hardly an isolated instance. Here are some others.
From Salon, at the height of the Mary Cheney controversy:

One moment gay and lesbian protesters are demanding that we regard them not by their insipid sexual acts, but as complex human beings deserving of the same inalienable rights the constitution reserves for all "humans." The next moment they are labeling and dismissing any human who breaks ranks with their cause.
In other words, as the Salon blog points out, Williams says that since they are calling on Cheney to join them in the struggle for equality, he has every right to treat them as less than human.
Anger Management is an Ayn Rand blog with which we don't agree with much here. But he hits the nail on the head when he calls Williams' rants a philosophy of death:
http://angermanagement.mu.nu/archives/002400.html
According to Williams, Ephesians, and presumably God, homosexuals and those who don't object to homosexuality are "ruled by the selfish desires of [their] bodies and minds" and will be "punished". Here, then, is the meaning of Williams' column: homosexuals are evil because they desire the selfish joy and pleasure that proceeds from love and sex -- those who refuse to condemn homosexuals are evil because they selfishly choose to think for themselves.
The common denominator, the thing that makes both groups evil, is not simply the fact they disobey God (otherwise, why bring up selfishness at all?) -- it's because they do it for selfish reasons. It's because they refuse to sacrifice themselves, body and mind, to the proclamations of a book.
And that's the key -- its self-sacrifice Williams demands as price of virtue: sacrifice of one's mind and one's body. For a human being, that equals death.
Man's mind is his means of survival -- his body has the capacity to bring him pleasure, which is the reward for living. To sustain both requires acting on principle...selfish principles. It is this that Williams damns as immoral. Homosexuality is almost incidental. The reason it is the target of religion is because homosexuality represents the most clearly selfish form of romantic love. Unlike heterosexual love, which religionists have justified on the grounds of reproduction, homosexual love can have no higher aim than selfish pleasure in the best sense of both those words. Don't get me wrong...the same goes for heterosexual relationships, of course, but with homosexual relationships there can be no pretense.
I've said it before but here it is once again: Williams and those who agree with him are anti-life. They are in principle opposed to human happiness and joy. That is their fundamental guiding principle. Their philosophy is the philosophy of death. May they reap what they sow.
Plato, in his Republic stated that the highest goal in life was happiness. He stated that tyrants were the unhappiest people of all because they were always angry when people didn't do exactly what they wanted them to, always fearful that their friends were secretly betraying them, always needing to create new enemies to keep their followers in line, and always ready to throw fits of rage at the slightest provocation.
Outside Report (http://outsidereport.blogspot.com/2005/01/my-afternoon-with-armstrong-williams.html) is a first-hand account of Williams at his worst. Williams was interviewing the blogger for a job and launched into gay-bashing during the interview. His exact words were, "What if you knew that 70% of all gay couples molested their children?"
Given the fact of Williams' tyrannical and bullying behavior, it could be argued that Williams' actions are less of a reflection of his sexuality and more of a reflection of his lust for power. The nature of sexual harassment is that of power exerted by a dominating figure like a boss or CEO exerts over an employee.
Given the Athens, GA study showing that homophobic individuals are almost always secretly gay, who do you think will be the next person outed by Raw Story?
After Vermont legalized civil unions, polls have showed that acceptance of gay marriages went from 50% to 75%. Since widespread acceptance of same-sex lifestyles reduces or eliminates the need for persons to repress their sexuality, does this sound the death knell for rabid anti-gay commentators?
