Dear Senators Lieberman and Feinstein,
As a life-long democrat and avid follower of liberalism, I must say that the spinelessness that you showed during the senate confirmation hearings of Condoleezza Rice disappointed me. I know that things are rough out there for your kind--Republican majorities in both the house and senate make it tough for your types to do business. I also know that taking a moderate approach to legislative politics gives you both an edge in "reaching across the fence". However, these are trying times for the Democratic party and we must be "firm" and "resolute" when dealing with the fundamentalists that have taken over our government.
Being "firm" and "resolute" means that we must speak with one voice. While I understand that there are different points-of-view in the Democratic party, when we have been backed into the corner we must show Conservatives that while we may respect their
rational beliefs, their lies that forced us into war will not be tolerated any further. A unified Democratic party that stands against the confirmation of Condoleezza Rice is the only tool we have to remind those on the right that we will not let our government be high-jacked by neo-cons with a chip on their shoulder.
Please, remember that politics isn't just about power-it's about people. When you forget that, your constituents lose faith in you, no matter what party they belong to.
Sincerely,
Kevin Villegas
