I posted a
full account of my trip to the northeast DNC Caucus on MyDD, which I would be pleased if you'd skim through. I tried to make it thoughtful and informative. In fact, it is altogether much too
thoughtful and
informative for DailyKos, and cross-posting full text is a dirty habit. So here is the short, incendiary, "kossified" version:
Grassroots Half these candidates don't know grassroots from assboots. They think it is the last step in a top-down bureaucracy. Wrong. It is bottom-up streetfighting, and there is little the DNC chair can do about it except spread a little money & get out of the way.
Fighting dirty The Texan candidate, and others, especially railed against Tom Delay's redistricting, and vowed to take over state legislatures so we could do some redistricting of our own. How many despicable Republican tactics are we willing to copy? Tell me when I've crossed the line: (1) Gerrymandering, (2) Pundit-purchasing, (3) Midnight-rider-attaching, (4) Push-polling, (5) Ballot-tampering. How low will you go in the ethics limbo?
Fight every fight Everybody wants to fight every fight, not give an inch. Everybody wants the Democrats to have a strong message, not diluted over a thousand small purely obstructionary efforts. So which will it be?
Democrats, Progressives, Liberals - lend me your ears! I will use them as handles to screw your heads on straight.
