A rough estimate of the actual casualty rate in Iraq shows a much more bleak and costly mess than people realize.
Keep in mind, I am only talking about casualties suffered by Americans.
From Cursor:
Last September Benjamin reported that Pentagon "casualty counts" failed to include almost 17,000 troops medically evacuated from Iraq and Afghanistan that weren't hurt by enemy bombs and bullets. He now puts that number at more than 20,000, and also refers to the U.S. military's combining of its public affairs and PsyOps offices in Iraq.
You have to ask yourself, honestly, is this necessary? Hell they won't allow you to film the caskets coming in at Dover AFB. And they apparently only transport the wounded in at night. And they won't admit it.
Let's do a little math, shall we? From the DoD :
We start with 1511 dead + 11220 wounded (reported ) + 20,000 unreported casualties comes to 32731 total casualties over 720 days. This means 45.5 casualties a day; which means that amortized over the years we have been there, a wounded US soldier every 33 minutes.
This is Ken Edelman's cakewalk.
