Currently online at the Washington Post is this welcome news:
republicans are scared DeLay's ethics problems are getting worse and will take him down.
Money quote:
"If death comes from a thousand cuts, Tom DeLay is into a couple hundred, and it's getting up there," said a Republican political consultant close to key lawmakers. "The situation is negatively fluid right now for the guy. You start hitting arteries, it only takes a couple." The consultant, who at times has been a DeLay ally, spoke on the condition of anonymity, saying he could not be candid otherwise."
On the flip - what DailyKos can do to add a few hundred of the cuts required to publically embarrass, and permanently retire, one of the most vile hypocrites in contemporary politics (and that's saying something).
Ok - if the republicans are acknowledging the problem, we're making real progress. Damage in this case is cumulative, as long as it arrives more or less at the same time. Since DeLay has done so much to eviscerate his own reputation, I think that in the spirit of bipartisanship we at DailyKos really should do what we can do to help finish the job.
So here's the challenge - lets give Tom Delay the same full-bore Google-Wedgie we gave Jeff Gannon a few weeks ago.
Let's tie the evil threads together, name names, dig up the skeletons in his many closets, and win this fight in the court of public opinion long before the noble DA crusader who indicted his partners in crime gets a chance to take DeLay down in court (though we all applaud that too).
This is the week the story is hot. Now is the time to strike. Inflict your damage below, provide links to other investigative blog entries, post whatever you can find that expands on what is already known. Working together we can put "The Hammer" down.
