First Ann Coulter; then Bill Kristol; then Pat Buchanan (okay, it was salad dressing, but work with me).
And now .... David Horowitz.
The story and picture on the flip....
From the Indianapolis Star:
A conservative activist who criticizes what he calls the leftist domination of college campuses was struck with a pie Wednesday night at Butler University.
David Horowitz, president of the Center for the Study of Popular Culture, had just started a lecture at Butler when he was hit.
Horowitz's supporters followed the assailants out of the hall, and confronted them with what a witness called "pushing and shoving." However, the attackers got away.
"There's a wave of violence on college campuses, committed by what I'd call fascists opposing conservatives," Horowitz said. "It's one step from that to injury."
After the incident, Horowitz completed his lecture.
Update [2005-4-7 11:39:54 by Hprof]: - I didn’t bother to discuss the ethics and political consequences of pieing in this diary, because it’s been covered in previous dkos diaries that I’ve commented on. But since ThirstyGator raises the issue in
another diary today, I suppose I ought to be clear:
1. I have never thrown a pie in public, nor do I incite others to do so;
2. I reserve, however, the right to laugh when a huckster and fool like Horowitz takes a pie in the kisser;
3. And, yes, right-wingers will use as broad a brush as they can to paint Democrats, the left, American colleges, etc. as responsible for these actions, and to label us intolerant, uncivil, etc. But we’re not responsible just because they say so, and I suspect that their ginned up outrage won't be that widely shared among the American public, who have seen enough 3 Stooges movies to have a chuckle at it, too.
