I just posted a diary on
why Microsoft folded like overcooked broccoli.
At the end, I used the following simile:
. . . . but I do understand why they have rolled over rolled over like a hooker at Charlie Sheen's house.
It's not my turn of phrase. It came from here.
I found it via Google. I searched on "rolled over like a", and selected one that worked.
I also use Google to help with me spelling obscure words. The "Did you mean:" hint is very useful for that.
There are very few spell checkers that have "Arachibutyrophobia" in their lexicon, after all.
Of course, I also use my word processor's thesaurus a lot.
What are the tools and tricks that you use to find the right words?
How does your normal writing differ from blog or diary writing?
What about punctuation? Do you have problems with Pandas wielding firearms (A Panda Eats, Shoots, and Leaves).
What do you do to rite good?
