There is one improvement to this place that could make things so much easier. We've all seen diary titles, including among the recommended diaries, that are little more than, "I can't believe they got away with it!" and "Oh my God, this is HUGE!" It's impossible to know what these are about, and do you really want to click on every link and load every diary page to figure these mysteries out? I certainly don't.
So what if you could just slide your cursor over the diary title and have the first 50 words of the diary pop up? (More.)
This wouldn't take much wizardry, though it would probably take some Scoop geekery. I'm sure Scoop could be tweaked to be able to identify the first 250 characters or so of a diary, since it already does the same sort of thing to make a minimum diary length requirement. Well, why not make those first 250 characters or so the "alt text" of the diary's front page title link? ("Alt text" is what creates that handy pop-up text you sometimes see for links and pictures.) That way, when you roll over a diary title like "NOW is the time for ACTION!" you'll know whether it's about vote verification or the Bolton nomination.
