[update]Alright folks...
Madman in the Marketplace just posted
Vichy Dems a little while ago. There is a pretty vigorous conversation going on over there with regards to bungling Biden and other dems that like to sell us out. Have at it.
[/update]
Our dem leaders need to get out and talk to their constituents more. At a time when the polling data shows Repukes losing their shirt on the "nuclear option" - and a surprisingly advanced and nuanced understanding of the issues by the voters, Biden comes out with this:
Sen. Joseph Biden (news, bio, voting record), D-Del., raised the possibility of a deal. "I think we should compromise and say to them that ... we'll let a number" of the seven judges "go through, the two most extreme not go through and put off this vote and compromise," he said on ABC's "This Week."
How many times to we need to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? It seems almost as if Dem leadership
wants to remain in the minority.
Listen: most of all, I'm a populist. People over corporations. Environment over oligarchs. Health over plutocracy. I'm suspicious of anyone powerful - more likely than not, they fucked someone over to get there.
So when I see this:
Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., is open to compromise, his spokesman said Sunday. "There's lot of concern among Republicans about the road Senator Frist is leading the Senate down," Jim Manley said.
I want to know exactly what good Reid thinks will come from allowing Priscilla Owen, Janice Brown and all the other wing nut corporate tools onto the bench.
Don't let them sell us out this time. We've lost ANWR, bankruptcy, etc... let's win this one.
