The rules have changed. And the new rules are "fuck them."It was the neocon fascist
fuckers who changed the rules – and there is not much we can do about
this until we get back in power. So we now have a choice: Fight back or
kick off.
Listening to neocon talk
radio today and hearing complaints about Dean, and then reading Knight-Ridder's
take on Dean's Tim Russet interview on Sunday, I realized how important it
is for Dean and other kick-ass Democrats to get tough. The neocons talked
today about Dean's calling Delay a criminal. The spin was against Dean, but
the talk was about criminal Delay. It doesn't matter if they spin against
Dean or any other kick-ass Democrat, so long as they are talking our talking
points. (No matter what, the spin will be against us. No matter what. That
means we have nothing to lose.) If we fill up their programs with our "gaffes" about
how evil, immoral, criminal, greedy and un-American the neocons are, then
they'll be talking about that - and not about something else.
The neocons and radical
Republicans seek power by all means. It's time for progressive to get tough.
And that's why Dean deserves the respect of every Democrat on the planet.
The more he opens his mouth, the more respect he deserves. The louder, more
combative he becomes, the stronger we are as a movement. Fuck them. Gloves
are off - it's time to get tough.
On NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday, host Tim Russert asked Dean about
a quip he made on May 14, when he told Massachusetts Democrats that DeLay,
the powerful Texas Republican who has been rebuked by colleagues for ethics
violations, "ought to go back to Houston where he can serve his jail sentence
down there." Was it fair, Russert asked, to convict a man who hasn't been
charged with anything?
"He hasn't been convicted yet," Dean replied. However, given the
fact that DeLay has been formally admonished three times by the House Ethics
Committee,
and that DeLay is currently under investigation by a Texas district attorney,
Dean felt comfortable making a prediction. He said: "There's a reasonable
chance (DeLay) could end up in jail." source
Progressives didn't start
off as pansies. And we aren't about to remain pansies any longer. Modern
day progressives have roots in labor, populism, radicalism and the original
progressive movement (ok, the original progressives were a bit on the pansy
side). Our far-back roots are in traditional liberalism. The founders who
forced the American Revolution were tough as nails - and they were the original
liberals. They created a new kind of government and a new nation, risking
everything to blaze new trails. Labor and anti-slavery activists risked death
- and were often jailed, beaten or killed for taking a stand. Poor women
who did not speak a word of English worked 16-hour days to continue working
as lanor organizers at night. The civil rights movement was a battle of the
toughest kind. These are our roots. And it’s time for use to dig deep
into our soul as a movement and to get tough again.
Having Dean as Chair of
the DNC is the first sign that the soul searching is paying off. Dean’s “I
hate the Republican Party” and “Delay should be in jail” comments
are the kinds of comments we need to be saying and spreading always.
We are tough as nails.
And so is Dean. Anyone who does not back Dean has no place in the liberal
movement of today. We stand together. We fight. We tell it like it is. We
defend our values. We fight. We don't back down. We organize. And we keep
doing this until the neocons are defeated. Done. Exposed. Ended.
Dean did not put his foot in his mouth when he said the Delay should be in
jail. Delay is a criminal of the worst kind; he is a traitor to the nation
(I'd like to hear those words out of Dean's mouth next!). Calling a criminal
a criminal is telling the truth – my only wish is that he goes farther
next time. Call it like is, Dr. Dean!
Jail is too good for Delay
- he deserves to be deported for violating the spirit of the Republic. To
hell with him and the rest of the greedy, evil, anti-liberal theocratic scum
of the earths who are ripping our nation apart. To hell to him and his cabal.
Keep fighting Dean! Keep
fighting! And fuck them all. Watch out, because the pansy progressives are
getting rolled over - and the neocon fuckers haven't seen nothing yet – because
when the kick-ass Democrats are finished clearing the pansy field we’re
coming for the neocons next.
