Okay I can't think of a good title for this, But this story strikes me as important,
Imagine Condi asking Canada (RCMP) for information on a American that Canada sent to Syria to be tortured and the RCMP telling Condi to talk to the CIA?
Okay to the meat of the story, as per Canada's Foreign Minister (now Defence Minister) Bill Graham while under oath at the Arar inquiry stated.
"Former foreign minister Bill Graham says he felt frustrated that he couldn't get more information from the RCMP about Maher Arar, who was arrested by U.S. authorities and deported to Syria.
Graham told a public inquiry that he was repeatedly told by top American officials there was good reason for their actions - and that he should ask his own police and security people for details. "

Now you may ask who is this Arar person, well as far as I know he is the only person to have caused an inquiry into the rendition program.
He's a Canadian/Syrian citizen that was "deported" via a Gulfstream jet to Syria after being detained in the US for 2 weeks. He was tortured for 8 months and then released.
His history is here.

It's a documented case of the US rendition program.
Now, whats big about this article you may ask? In my mind it is that our Foreign Minister wasn't able to find out why one of it's citizens was deported to Syria and was denied a lawyer by the US.
More from the article:
"But when he went to the RCMP he got only the most general information, with no operational details.
Graham, now defence minister, said he felt he was at a disadvantage because his American counterparts appeared to know more than he did."
I don't know but the US government has refused to participate in this inquiry and it is a black eye on Canada and the RCMP for helping in this rendition program by not fighting harder and providing information to the USA on Arar.
Maher Arar lives in Ottawa Canada, my home town.
