It seems like months ago, but really it was only one, when MSD hit the British media. The penetration of the US media has been slow, but steady. On May 6, the Dallas Morning News became the first media outlet to use the
"Wag the Dog" expression. On May 16, a
story appeared describing a BBC film suggesting that Bush and Blair had "exaggerated" the invasion intelligence. Finally, only a couple of days ago, the strong language began to appear, and was
diaried here: "Bush...Lied...", from an editorial in the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Was it triggered by the death in Iraq of the helicopter pilot son of a Minnesota state senator?
At that time, "Lied" was so scary that people called it "the L word." How far we have come. The Star Tribune and other papers have now printed the Downing Street minutes and other material in toto.
Now, the scary word is "the I word."
Just on a lark, I searched on news of impeach/impeachment/Bush, and you know what? it's not so scary any more.
A LOT OF I WORDS, BELOW THE JUMP
This looks like a long list, but really its not so big, many bloggers, a half dozen newspapers, some interviews, a LTE, a TV station, a couple foreign news services, and so on. But the point is that people are saying it, and it's sure as hell as great start.
Toward what? None of these voices have votes...This Republican House will likely never impeach Bush....well...mebbe, mebbe not...lets see what happens with stem cells...maybe its an election issue...

"Group wants Green to give Bush boot"
By Ray Barrington
News-Chronicle
A group of between 30 and 35 protesters stood outside Rep. Mark Green's Green Bay office Tuesday calling for him to ask for the impeachment of President Bush. The rally was linked to recent reports in British newspapers on a 2002 meeting that, according to an intelligence brief printed in the newspapers, showed that "intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy" of removing Saddam Hussein in Iraq."

'Move now to impeach Bush'
Posted: Tuesday, May 03, 2005 - 02:12:36 pm CDT
It is perhaps providential that Bush and Company was voted back into office in 2004, for the only way that this administration could ever be held accountable for their failed policies was if they were voted back in 2004. Justice may yet be served....There are groups forming to work for a Bush Administration impeachment. The ball must be set in motion now."

"Impeach Bush?"
Former Reagan aide calls for impeachment of Bush as only way to salvage America's position in the world.
George W. Bush and his gang of neocon warmongers have destroyed America's reputation. It is likely to stay destroyed, because at this point the only way to restore America's reputation would be to impeach and convict President Bush for intentionally deceiving Congress and the American people in order to start a war of aggression against a country that posed no threat to the United States."

BRING IN THE PSYCHOTHERAPIST

George W. Bush sorely needs help (and quickly) in several distinct areas of mental aberration. I don't say this maliciously or vengefully. But neither do I say it lightly.
Each day, by a personal appearance, a comment, or a speech, President Bush reveals once more that he is losing control of his mental machinery, notwithstanding his sly schoolboy grin, his I'm-in-command posture, and his pseudo-soldier look."

"Six years ago, congressional Republicans decided that stretching the truth about what constituted sexual relations in a discredited civil suit was grounds for impeachment. But proof that Bush lied repeatedly about his intentions to engage in a costly, unnecessary, poorly planned and unwinnable war gets a full pass. Thousands of dead, maimed and crippled U.S. troops, 100,000 dead Iraqis and the destruction of our international reputation apparently isn't as important to them as Paula Jones' pre-Penthouse/Playboy reputation."
