Between Howard Dean sticking his foot in his mouth because he speaks way before he constructs sentences and the Senate Democrats who absolutely disgust me, there is no common-sense talk that middle and upper middle class people can latch onto. Also, the Democrats' fear of attacking the most attackable president ever, makes him appear to be unattackable.
For instance, regarding Janice Rodgers Brown, don't you think someone should say:
I think every Senator has to put himself in the shoes of a real president and say to themselves, what would I say to an aide who suggested that I nominate Janice Rodgers Brown for a lifetime appointment to the Federal DC Appelate Court, one step away from the Supreme Ct. Would I say that person is a little too conservative or liberal or would I throw the aide out of my office and possibly fire him or her.
That is where the Senate has to draw a line in the sand. She is that bad. Priscilla Owens is that bad. Bush is that bad and people should start saying that.
Dean should attack the stupidity and the arrogance of Bush before he says DeLay should serve a jail sentence.
Dean should have said, DeLay is a horrible human being who should be kicked so far out of Washington, he'll want to forget where it is.
But, the Democrats, just like John Kerry's campaign is anemic and lacks testosterone. Even today, Democrats could say, given the events leading up to 9/11, and the way Bush was totally out to lunch during that period, do you feel safer with George Bush handling our security or would you prefer someone who can think? Is that called a push survey question? Karl Rove knows lots about them! The time to start tearing apart the Republicans is now, not 2 weeks before the election.
