I've ground my teeth long enough on the conundrum of what to do about deframing and reowning the term "pro-life," so it would mean, once again "for life" rather than "against abortion."
Instead, I'd say this - I'm Real-Life.
I don't want my children to be taken by the government and used as cannon-fodder in pre-emptive, global war based on lies.
I want my children to breathe clean air, drink pure water, and eat food from land that is free of pesticides and contamination.
I want to live in a way that leaves resources for people who will live behind me.
I want to live a life that doesn't ruin the earth or hurt other people.
I want my government to reflect the best in me, not the worst.
I want my government to serve the needs of people and to reflect our values.
I want my community to help those of us who are in need - who are hungry, sick, or elderly - those of us who need support in times of trouble.
I want my family to live safely in a country that welcomes people of all kinds into its borders.
I don't want to cower in fear and ignorance, hiding from the world.
I want to live in a country that uses our treasury in basic, common sense ways to reinforce the rule of law.
I don't want my government to kill criminals to punish them.
I don't want my government to detain people in secret jails.
I want to be free to believe, or to lack belief, and to respect the choice of others regarding their private spiritual life.
I want to be free to choose good healthcare and to control my own body.
I'm Real-Life.
These are my personal, family, and community values, and I'm proud of them.
