The on-going carping between Democrats regarding what Howard Dean said is typical of the Democratic Party. It exhibits our inability to focus the political debate on the substantial issues of the day, such as social security, Iraq, budget deficits, pension reform, etc. Conversely, it also shows the Republican Party's ability to hide the ball from the real issues. Once again, the Democratic Party seems about to take defeat from the jaws of victory. Stop fueling the fire and simply say that everyone is entitled to their opinions, which - unlike our opponents - we respect in the Democratic Party, and then refuse to answer any further questions on the issue and start talking about how we saved social security or how crappy a job Mr. Bush has done in Iraq. In case anyone hadn't noticed, Bush is finally and justifiably floundering in the polls and we should push that decline along.
I would also suggest that perhaps Ms. Pelosi, Mr. Reid and Mr. Dean meet to coordinate the political message we have. There seems to be multiple people talking in all different directions and nobody seems to be on message. This Administration is faltering and all it needs is a little push. The enemy is the right wing, Christian radicals (Mr. Dean is right by the way), who need to be taken to task for their results, which are embarrassing. Start focusing on their horse*
* record and stop carping amongst ourselves.
