Those of you that read the
excellent diary and comments about Bush being protested at Penn State know that the protesters there had a flier printed out with the great Eisenhower quote:
"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are ... a few ... Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid."
Unterhausen e-mailed the HTML version of the Penn State flier to a couple of people --myself included-- and Maggie Mae posted the text in the comment thread. It's an excellent job, and I think is something that needs to be developed further. Most Republicans that remember anyone earlier than Reagan still hold Eisenhower in high regard, so I think this could be an excellent tool to hit the paleo-cons with.

I've taken a stab at making a PDF flier that could be downloaded, printed, and distributed at your event of choice. I tried to keep it short and sweet, but still cover how Bush has attempted to undermine all four of Ike's "untouchables."
Having said that, I do not consider myself a graphical person, skilled with office applications, or particularly good at wordsmithing. So I would like some good constructive feedback/help on this. Maybe a snazzy background graphic. Layout suggestions. A good tag line (e.g., something about the "party of Eisenhower?") to put along the bottom.
Better wording for my examples, or better examples period, are also appreciated.
Since the PDF itself is > 900K, here's a small JPG of the file. You can click on it for a larger, more legible screengrab:

Let me know what you all think. :-)
Update [2005-6-15 21:8:37 by Praxxus]:I think I've worked in most of the suggested changes. I think it looks much better now. Thanks to you all! And let me know if there is more to be done.
