On Meet the Press yesterdat, John McCain talked about invading Syria. Here's a quote:
SEN. McCAIN: ...And that means addressing issues such as Syria, where a lot of foreign troops are coming in. If a Syria will not enforce its borders, the United States may not be required to respect Syria's borders.
MR. RUSSERT: What does that mean?
SEN. McCAIN: It means that the Syrians are serving as a conduit for a lot of foreign people coming into Iraq. And the bulk of the suicide bombers, for example, are not Iraqi citizens. And we have to put additional pressures on Syria.
This is slightly out of context. If you read the full transcript he backs off of this & talks about sanctions and not military force but this part sure sounds like intervention. Full transcript can be found here:
