Sponsored by Rick Santorum's gay dog, Puccini, who's little but hugely
pissed at the GOP's ridiculous crotch-sniffing ways.
~~~~~~Puccini~~~~~~
Cheers, thanks and love from me to all the gay teachers, librarians, clergy, coaches, neighbors, family and friends for being who you were & are in every sense of the word: totally human, totally humane, and totally divine! That goes for Innies or Outies both, who do what you have to to be true to yourself, and share the best in yourself with others. Thanks for fostering a more diverse, intelligent, and compassionate society. Over to you, Puccini ...
Puccini sends
Jeers to one of the Gayest. Administrations. Ever, hiding behind the most Homophobic. Agenda. Ever. Please, cast off your legacy of shame and learn meaning of Pride.
Puccini sends Jeers to the GOP's Capo di Tutti Frutti for swanning in front of handpicked audiences, chosen for supeficial diversity but de facto conformity, and the guarantee they wouldn't jeer during the performance -- or react other than according to the script. That's not Pride, it's Arrogance.
Shown: another stock-still cookie cutter audience doing its frame-filling duty for the Potemkin Presidency. (06/09/05))
Puccini sends Cheers to Toronto, for fully living up to its status as the most diverse city in the world. Toronto's Pride Week is the largest event of its kind in Canada and among the three largest gay and lesbian celebrations in the world. Toronto's Pride: 25 years and counting! is for everyone to enjoy.
Puccini sends Cheers to the Blue Jays and other major league teams for celebrating diversity the way it's meant to be:
TORONTO ... Scott Thompson has agreed to throw out the ceremonial first pitch on the Blue Jays Pride Night versus the Baltimore Orioles
Thursday, June 23 at 7:07 p.m [...] in support of Toronto's Pride Week. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales in a special field level seating area will be donated to the organizing committee for Pride Toronto. ...
Thompson, formerly a member of the popular comedy troupe "The Kids in the Hall," is currently the host of My Fabulous Gay Wedding airing across the country on Global Television. [...]
According to ... gaybaseballdays.com, run by Toronto's own Mark Kari, the Blue Jays are one of six teams in Major League Baseball to host an event or promotion in the 2005 season aimed specifically to the gay and lesbian community. The others are the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants. (OutOntario 06/09/05)
Jeers to reproductive medievalists like US District Judge Gary Taylor for his regressive and downright medieval view of what marriage means, by saying that denying reproductive rights and personal freedoms ...
[...] served government interests by promoting a traditional definition of marriage as between a man and woman.
"The court finds it is a legitimate interest to encourage the stability and legitimacy of what may reasonably be viewed as the optimal union for procreating and rearing children by both biological parents," Taylor wrote.
"Because procreation is necessary to perpetuate humankind, encouraging the optimal union for procreation is a legitimate government interest," Taylor added. "Encouraging the optimal union for rearing children by both biological parents is also a legitimate government interest." [...]
Taylor abstained from addressing California's ban on same-sex marriages as the National Center for Lesbian Rights had requested in joining the lawsuit.(06/16/05 Reuters / Christie)
Optimal? Sez who? The Jeerable moral medievalists who want to make government a fertility-enforcing body? If they wanted to walk their moral values walk, they'd outlaw marriage between men and women who don't intend to (or can't) procreate. They'd introduce measures to prevent deadbeat parents from remarrying if children from previous unions weren't fully provided for. They'd criminalize divorce between couples who have children younger than adult age to raise. And they'd respect the spousal decisions made by Michael Schiavo to carry out the wishes of his late wife Terri, by ending this nightmare of political grandstanding continued today by blithering asshole Jeb Bush
So Cheers to those who thwart narrow definitions of couples and families by what genitalia bump together and prove that people who commit to loving and respecting each other for the long haul is what family's all about.
Meet Rev. Troy Perry.
