Or so it seems. Where I am, CNN is all the news I can get, and the minute by minute by minute, breathless reportage has been, well, kind of anticlimactic. A sign blew down. Trees and branches were strewn about. And as the storm got weaker and weaker, CNN got more stubborn and stubborn. They had to start repeating all that breathtaking reportage, because, well, nothing was going on.
But in the reality based world there was a lot more going on.
More -
In Baghdad, where just yesterday we had broken the back of the
insurgency, a deadly suicide bomb killed a
bunch more police recruits.
They found a new mass grave in Srebrenica. Old news really. Who cares about massacred Muslims in Bosnia?
Oh how about this one? The Brits are looking for white guys in connection with the London terrorist attacks. They're called `clean skins' which I guess is like
skin heads, but different.
What else, uh, of here's one. North Korea is going back to the table in the multilateral nuclear talks. Condi says it's a good start. Condi is in China, by the way.
This one is terrible. Two trains collided in Mississippi and killed some people.
Oh, Katie Holmes tried on a wedding dress.
Let's see, you already know about this, this and this.
And you must know about the new leaked dossier Yup, al Qaeda is recruiting college grads and techno-wizards to build bombs and stuff. I heard they might be going after Chippendale dancers next, little suicide crotch bombs or something like that at bachelorette parties.
And finally, Civil War has broken out in Iraq. Talk about all hell breaking loose. And this is from Allawi: One of our main men in Iraq. So you can take it to the bank.
I guess that's enough for now. You probably get more news than I do.
But I tell you, you'd never know ANYTHING else was going on in the world today if all you watched was CNN.
