Forgive me if someone has pointed this out already, but I just need to rant about what a loyal whore Colin Powell was for the Bushies. We all know he sold his soul making the case for Bush at the U.N. (not to mention covering up my My Lai), but what ever happened to the so-called "Powell Doctrine?"
You know, back in Gulf War I:
- Build a strong international coalition based on clear (and legal) reasoning.
- Invade with overwhelming force.
- Have a clear-cut exit strategy.
All these things we supposedly learned from Vietnam were wrapped up in this concept nicknamed for the former Sec of State. Which was then completely ignored or forgotten by this adminstration. Did Powell ever bother to point this out? Did he raise any objections about the methodology and decisions made before or after the invasion? Will he go to his grave, ever the loyal soldier, defending his leaders while every day 2 Americans are destined to lose their lives in the sand of Iraq?
Tool.
