This is the letter I've just sent to my state senator. I'd urge all of us to email similar letters to our congressmen and copy our local news stations. These are some of the important questions. The twist and turns of the Rove scandal are less important.
...........
I am writing your office for the very first time in my life because of my growing concerns regarding the abuses of power exhibited, only in part, by the unethical and potentially treasonous breach of our national security by the Bush administration (the Plame incident). I am urging you to publicly demand that the White House immediately answer my very deep concerns.
What is President Bush doing to protect me from further national security risks from his own administration?
Does President Bush take responsibility for this unethical and potentially treasonous behaviour? If not, why not? If he cannot or will not take responsibility, can he keep us safe from similar abuses?
If President Bush tolerates what has happened in his own administration (despite his assurance he would not), how will he handle future similar situations?
Will President Bush assure the American people no one in his administration will use our national security for political gain again?
Thank you for your time. The entire American constituency deserves to hear how Republicans, Democrats, and the White House will protect us from this kind of behavior in the future.
Sincerely,
