I just watched George Allen make an unbelievable comparison on "This Week with George Stephanopolous." Asked about the sectarian militias in Iraq and the problem they may pose for that country's democratic process, he compared the sectarian militias to the original American colonies' militias.
My American history courses taught that the militias of the thirteen colonies worked together to oppose the British. I don't recall (and can't find now on quick search) instances of assassination of prominent figures in Delaware to advance the interests of Virginia, or vice versa. If you see these militias the same way as the colonial militias, Mr Allen, I have to question either your knowledge of history or of the current situation.
Someone save this one if George Allen decides to run.
