The Fox News Channel hasn't let a little thing like the destruction of the Gulf Coast get in the way of spreading their propaganda. In fact, they're exploiting the tragedy to promote their pro-Bush, anti-science, xenophobic views. Examples below the fold.
Update [2005-8-31 23:29:42 by Blue Intrigue]:Brit Hume has sunk to a new low, using Katrina to...
attack Cindy Sheehan!http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,168105,00.html
Neal Cavuto bemoans
the lack of foreign aid offers, a few days after Terry Keenan, guest hosting "Your World"
discussed the Lance Armstrong doping scandal as a French "attack" on the United States. Of course, Cavuto fails to mention that Hugo Chavez immediately offered
assistance and that diplomats from around the world are doing what they can to learn the fates of their citizens.
Ben Stein found the silver lining in Katrina: Corporations will make huge profits in the re-building of the cities. "There will be a tremendous boom in home repair, new construction, Lowes's, Home Depot, those stores like that will just explode in terms of growth in that region of that country," Stein said on "Dayside".
Brit Hume used his show to refute the notion of global warming.
Fred Barnes found excuses for the President: "I also predict the president, if he's not already in New Orleans, will be there very soon. Maybe the water has to subside a little". He then went on to espouse the belief that insurers shouldn't cover New Orleans residents because they choose below sea-level. http://www.newshounds.us/2005/08/30/fred_barnes_to_katrina_victims_drop_dead.php#more
Sickest of all was Cavuto (again) promoting the idea that the government doesn't owe a red cent to the affected areas. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,167790,00.html
Any others?
