Note that on Tuesday, August 30, 2005, when the levees of New Orleans gave way, the stock market went down. Except for energy companies and oil companies and...Halliburton: which went up. Not to say there is anything illegal or unethical going on here, business is business. But this "shift" in fortunes was not created by little guy investors like you and I. Nope, this was a tell tale trail left by the big boys positioning themselves under the funnel of a money current flowing stronger than Lake Ponchrian over the bank, or out of the bank$. I'm just pointing out that the rest of us should observe the "gravitus" of these events.
Note that on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 every single news channel is carrying stories about the gas shortage. Even the President is vowing to release some of our "reserves" to help us through. All the while, the prices at the pump are skyrocketing higher and higher. Today when I filled up my gas tank to the very top, I was GLAD to pay $2.69 per gallon. Why? Because I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to buy any at all. I admit it, they scared me again.
Scare tactics work like a charm. Meanwhile, the tv is showing looters stealing shoes from a Walmart. And it is terrible, to see these people taking advantage of the situation for their gain. See how the oil companies are doing the same thing by taking advantage of the situation for their own financial gain. Do we see the oil companies making any sacrifice for our country? They are standing there with their hand out while robbing us blind. Our own American corporations are showing no more integrity than those poor, destitute "drug addicts" in knee deep water.
