"is faced with some of the most incredible, incredible stupid, ignorant regulations by FEMA. They have turned generators away from us. They´ve turned fuel away from us because they determine, or the driver determined, that it wasn´t the correct spot to put it. The generators … oh, the site hadn´t been inspected yet. We´ve gotta bring an inspector to see where the thing is going. You know, bring me generators. We in a catastrophic situation, and that is absolutely incredible. We have heard that FEMA or some federal agencies are going around seizing equipment from our contractors, etc. If they do that, they´d better bring weapons, because I´ll be goddamned if I´m gonna give anything up to a bunch of feds coming in, and we in a catastrophic situation, and taking our stuff. And I am really pissed off and I´m getting tired of this. They need to start doing things that make sense and quit all this horse shit that doesn´t mean a damn thing to anybody except some bureaucrat in Washington."

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

  •  It's difficult... (none)
Judiciousness prevents me from recommending too many diaries these days.

I am dumbfounded by my profound anger and shame.

    •  Too many outrages (none)
This is truly shocking that FEMA has to commandeer a disaster areas equipment and unable to deploy there own because of pencil pushing.
      •  perhaps a cartoonist could do a piece.... (none)
with victims on their roof with water or people asking for help  while being tied up in red tape.. or have fema officials  standing there holding water or something tied up in red tape and unable to reach them....  i am not an artist, but somehow having what the people need just out of reach....  tis is just making me sick!
    •  Slidell Mayor. (none)
There are No Dkos rules re: number of ReCos per day.
Just go for whatever diary(s) you want to RECOMMEND.

  •  I'm sorry (none)
but that guy sounds like a wingnut!  There's a difference between Mayor Nagin's indignation at the gov't not doing enough and Slidell's mayor's apparent concern that the fed govt and its inevitably incompetent bureaucrats are putting their noses where they don't belong... I wouldn't be suprised if this guy is angry that so much attention is being paid to "godforsaken" N.O....
    •  It's Bush's FEMA, not Clinton's - (none)
and we know it.  Keep on that fact.  Anyway, since there's a possibility of a terrorist attack or other hurricanes coming down - this needs to be said.

The beneficiaries are likely to be...large corporations and development firms. (O'Connor, J. dissenting in Kelo). God bless you, J. O'Connor.
