I imagine that most members of this community have already busted this month's budget contributing to the first responders or local groups gearing up to help in Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama. If not, I would urge you to make that your priority.
Next, think about digging a bit deeper into you pocket and subscribing (extending your subscription) to the Daily KOS. If the rest of the community has spent as much time on these pages as I have over the past week, the bandwidth costs are probably exorbitant. If you have not yet made a commitment to support KOS, this is the time to show you value this site.
Finally, we need to start brain-storming over how we can channel the energies and resources of the many members who wish they could do more. Lives are in ruin and we need to get the discussion started (since the powers-that-be are still stalled in "pre-rescue" mode) on what can be done to provide permanent housing and employment for tens (hundreds?) of thousands of people.
