In a very good article the BBC outlines some new information about Katrina that you may not have heard yet.

Firstly, Bush has declared a Day of Prayer for Sept 16th. I don't know what to say about this other then Bush should be praying hard himself because I hope the memory of eating cake and playing guitar while people died should provide him with some guilt.
Secondly I love the way that they stated that Cheney was arriving in NOLA.
"Mr Cheney's arrival in Mississippi comes as 25,000 body bags are sent to New Orleans and rescuers begin recovering victims."
Finally, they go over the 200+ missing from various countries.
More below the fold.
UK: 96 missing
Mexico: 90 missing, three dead
France: several dozen "untraced"
Poland: 22 missing
Canada: 9 missing
Spain: 6 untraced
Italy: at least 2 families out of contact
South Africa: 3 out of contact
New Zealand: 2 missing
Netherlands: 1 person out of contact
Australia: 1 missing
Please understand that I'm not trying to trivialize anything that happened to Americans but this in some ways is an international tragedy. Think what the British think when they see Bush sitting in Crawford or eating cake while 96 of there citizens go missing.
This is a black mark on America and it hurt the impression that people have of your country for a long time. Doctor's, professors and people with means to choose a 1st world country will go elsewhere to immigrate. People seeking to invest will see a unstable country, tourists will stay away.
Thank you Mr. Bush
