Short version of a diary, because I REALLY have to get some sleep tonight....
I spent the day with the Central Tour of Cindy Sheehan's Bring Them Home Now Tour in Cleveland, Ohio. The east side rally had 231 attendees, and the room was PACKED. An amazing day all around, and I will describe it in a full diary tomorrow, but one interesting thing came up while I was there.
I was spending a few minutes with Rebecca, and amazing woman from the tour, and she had asked me if I had heard about "the incident in Toledo". Considering Toledo's been central base for Tom Noe scandals becoming unfolded, I asked her which incident she meant.
She told me that the organizers of the Northern Tour (which had spent time in Toledo Thursday and Friday) put up 2,000 crosses to symbolize US casualties in Iraq and the following morning they had all been destroyed.
Being on the tour, they have limited access to the internet and they're on the run all day long so they have little time to catch up on the news. Rebecca wanted to know if I had heard or seen anything about this incident, and I must say I haven't. We then spent a considerable amount of time discussing the mental capacity of a person who would do such a thing.
Does anybody have ANY details on this? I'd love to be able to get back to her with details before they leave town Sunday morning and head to Pittsburgh.
