Hahahahahaha. Karl Rove's plan to rescue Bush's popularity with a maudlin prime time speech falls
flat on its face:
Thirty-five percent (35%) of Americans now say that President Bush has done a good or excellent job responding to Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. That's down from 39% before his speech from New Orleans.
The latest Rasmussen Reports survey shows that 41% give the President poor marks for handling the crisis, that's up 37% before the speech.
Rove has forgotten that, when you're that unpopular, a primetime speech preempting people's favorite shows makes you LESS popular, not more. People have already decided (with good reason) that they don't like Bush. Thus, showing his ugly mug at an uninvited time will now do nothing but make matters worse for the pretender in chief.
