On Sept. 25, just one day after the huge anti-war protest march in Washington DC, a "rally to support the troops" sponsored in part by the pro-war wingers attracted a whopping crowd of 400. One of the key speakers was Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions. (You may remember he is fighting to repeal the estate tax, a move that seems at odds with our continuing budget crisis and emergency recovery efforts.)
At the rally, Sen. Sessions had this to say about the anti-war demonstrators:
"The group who spoke here the other day did not represent the American ideals of freedom, liberty and spreading that around the world... I frankly don't know what they represent, other than to blame America first."
Why does Jeff Sessions hates our patriotic soldiers so much he wants to kill them?
Why don't you give him a piece of your mind at: Contact Jeff Sessions or call him in Washington at: (202) 224-4124.
More below the fold.
Unfortunately, the MSM is really spinning the Sunday rally as a "rally to support the troops" thus implying that the anti-war rally was against the troops. The 200 or so protesters that showed up at the anti-war rally had the same idea: Anti-war protesters must be against our soldiers. Nothing could be farther from the truth. What part of not wanting to lose another soldier in this ill-conceived, immoral and illegal war don't they understand? Many of the anti-war protestors have loved ones in harm's way or have lost someone dear to them.
Why does Senator Sessions want more soldiers killed? Could it be... OIL?? I'm afraid it is worse than that... he is either evil, a coward, or ignorant (or all of the above?).
My letter is below:
Dear Senator Sessions,
Believe it or not, you cannot spread freedom and liberty at the point of a gun. Tons of bombs and tens of thousands of dead, not to mention the squandering of billions of dollars and almost 2,000 American patriots lives, seems like a funny way to spread anything other than hated. Our actions have done nothing to increase our security. Quite the contrary, they have made us, and the rest of the world, less safe,
Funny you got a turnout of about 400 for the rally to support the war. By even the most conservative figure, the anti-war rally drew 250 times that, while estimates from CNN indicate the anti-war rally drew 1,500 times that.
The majority of Americans now believe that going into Iraq was a mistake. It was, unfortunately, not a mistake. We attacked Iraq not because of weapons of mass destruction but for oil. The truth about the cooked intelligence has been revealed clearly in the Downing Street Memos. If you don't have the intelligence to understand that, you do not deserve your job.
George Bush refuses to listen to the Saudis when they predict further unrest and civil war. Why is Bush suddenly such an expert? We should remove our troops as quickly as possible. Of course you know we won't because of the 14 permanent bases.
Don't be such a rube. You've been had by your own President. It is time to act properly and the whole world knows it. We will be watching for your inspired leadership.
