According to
General George Casey training of Iraqi troops is going great.
"Have we lost ground? Definitely not."
That is unless your count involves numbers. In June Casey proudly told Congress that Three Batallions of Iraqi troops were fully trained and able to function without U.S. military supervision.
Today it was this:
Gen. George Casey, softening his previous comments that a "fairly substantial" pullout could begin next spring and summer, told lawmakers that troops might begin coming home from Iraq next year depending on conditions during and after the upcoming elections there.
On Thursday, Casey said only one battalion is ready.
"It doesn't feel like progress," said Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine
I kind of expected progress to feel a little different myself.
