Oh, I adore Barbara Boxer. She cares about people. She may not be thrilled with the war in Iraq but she knows that we have to provide our army with the tools they need to survive.
"Unfortunately, U.S. military personnel were sent into Iraq ill-prepared to deal with the threat from roadside bombs, and we have been playing catch up ever since," Boxer said. "Our soldiers were sent into combat with only a tiny fraction of the jammers they should have had."

We could have been jamming roadside bombs and have not been? This is so morally wrong. The Republicans want to talk morals. Then, we will talk morals. We are going to continue to point out that they did not properally arm our troops and set them into battle unprepared. This is immoral.
The Bush Administration did not request any funds in the emergency supplemental to purchase jammers for the Army despite the Joint Staff's estimating that roadside explosives have caused 70 percent of U.S. casualties (soldiers killed and wounded) in Iraq.

This was not done out of stupidity. The Bush administration knew better. They chose not to purchase the bomb jammers that could have saved many lives.
It is because they only care about the rich. Soldiers do not have a lot of money. Why should the Bush administration help the soldiers? They can't afford to come to their $25,000 a plate fundraising dinners.
Senator Boxer requested 60 million dollars for roadside bomb jammers. This is nothing. Peanuts! 60 million is nothing in terms of the money we are spending on this war. In April, the Senate pass the appropriations for the jammers. Now they are ready to pass the Emergency Supplemental that includes the jammers.
I am sad because it is taken so long to get this done. A ridiculously long time. We have been at war for several years. The Bush administration knew that these jammers could have helped and did nothing. Why can't we hold this man accountable?
Bush is so much in denial of his mistakes that he doesn't even realize that he is putting soliders into combat unprepared. Ignorance may be bliss for George W. Bush.
But his ignorance is hell for the rest of us.
