I've been watching "Hardball," and the way Mathews spoke of past conversations with Gillespie, he thinks there is a possibility that Bush might pull a Nixon and refuse to debate the Dem nominee. I have suspected this might happen for some time.
This, my friends who support Clark, is why I have been pounding Clark so hard for not being willing to attend the last 3 debates.
Not debating is something people like Nixon and Arnold and Bush do. It isn't a sign of a someone who respects Democracy.
It worked for Nixon, Arnold, and now Clark... but I would urge all Clark supporters to stand on principal and ask there guy to end this silly "no debates" stance. Because come November, we might need as much intellectual consistancy on this issue as possible. Democrats must take the high-ground on this.
And if Bush does refuse to debate, someone in a chicken costume needs to go to every rally or speech that Dubya gives.
