I've been hanging around here several times a day since before the 2004 election. (After I was ready to move to Canada!) I have never written a diary and am not sure if I am doing it right. I've only post comments once or twice, but I feel the urge to speak.
If we want to advance the things that liberals (yep, I want to use the "L" word, it's time to stop being ashamed to be one) are interested in, we need to stop as acting as badly as the 35% who think Bush can do no wrong. Denigrating the opposition constantly is no different than what they do to us. People are ready for a change. We need to be FOR something.
How about universal health care? This is beginning to have legs. See this link where 8,000 doctors are calling for system wide overhaul.

We can even get big business on our side with the right framing. They are at a disadvantage in the world market because other nations are providing health care and our companies have to pay for it. See link about Ford

This is the prime time to move on energy policy. See this link for coal to fuel technology http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/10/3/13533/1903
This would be great for the short term, then invest in new technology in renewable fuels, hydrogen, solar, wind and any other technologies that are out there. We must get free of arab oil or these wars will continue because our economy can not exist without it.
On SCOTUS. Did you really think Bush would appoint a liberal? Come on that's what happens when you own all of the government. You get to choose. We don't. So suck it up, it could have been much worse. Personally I think he betrayed his base and showed himself for the liar he is.
