CNN (TV) just reported that NYC police is mobilizing at Brooklyn Navy Yard - some subway threat potentially. 5:30 pm press conference by Ray Kelly and Bloomberg. But Homeland Security says they don't know anything about it - it's all local??? FBI just said that this is a threat about which there's been info for a couple days, but there's no imminent threat they know of.
I hate having to say this. I hope I'm wrong. Not in a sense that I hope there's an actual threat, but in the sense that these people wouldn't have the gall to jerk us around like that. But of all the days, on the day when so much stuff hits the fan they let out the non-imminent threat which they've been analyzing for three days????? And why do they have to yank NYC's chain every time? Don't they realize that this creates a problem down the line when people may end up ignoring a real threat because they get tired of these circle-jerk alerts ?
If only Ferrer had half a brain, he could actually make an issue out of the continued whoring out of NYC & 9/11 for PR purposes.
OK, some live blogging from Bloomberg's press conf. Some news outlet has had info about this for two days but they held if off on city's request.
Threat has not been fully corroborated. Threat specific regarding time place & method. I don't get this. The FBI guy just said "Classified operations have partially disrupted the threat. But the recent operations have not corroborated the real threat to the city". That doesn't make any sense. Press doesn't get it either. Did they catch someone? Apparently not... Bloomberg says noone has been arrested in NYC.
Oh no..... I think I feel the chicken flu coming on. Could some please call the vet for me?
