Paul Krugman and Stuart Butler went at it hammer and tongs on today's
Fresh Air with Terry Gross.
Krugman is a columnist for The New York Times; Butler is a vice president of the Heritage Foundation, focusing on domestic and economic policy. The pair debate Bush's economic policy as the country deals with the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

It was remarkable how often they agreed on what the problems are in rebuilding the Gulf Coast. And there was the occaisional agreement on the solution. But, as you might expect, there was plenty of disagreement on the solutions.
Terry Gross is a superb interviewer and even though her program, Fresh Air, generally deals with popular culture, she sometimes takes forays into current events and brings people to the radio most of us have never heard and sometimes never heard of. If you are a fan of Paul Krugman's editorials then you really should listen to the debate. He is a joy to hear and thanks to Terry Gross this was a first for me.
