Ok, a quick meta-tag-diary. I know that I am making meta-tag-Jesus cry. And I'm sorry for the short diary - I haven't written a diary in a long time so I'm not abusing the one-a-day rule.
So please join me below...
Anywho, I like the tag concept, it is reminiscent of Gmail and I think it will greatly facilitate organization, the ability to zero in on topics etc. One trend which I do not think is good, however, is the tendency in several diaries (you will remain nameless) to insert your own coloring of views. Just today, I have seen tags with names like "common sense", "delusional", "nutty ideas" etc., i.e. these were not topics addressed in the diaries themselves but rather a way to insert feelings about the topic. In some cases, I think others added in these "emotional flavorings" into the tags. I think this is NOT a good idea. If we start categories like
Dumb ideas
Illogical ramblings etc (just examples)
which do not actually cover the topics at hand, we will soon have a jillion and one tags that really help you find nothing - something labeled "dumb idea" could be about a way to handle Miers or a suggestion to throw pies at Diane Feinstein. Also, it is just a matter of time until we get tabs like
"X is a moron", "Trollbate" etc.
Meaning the tab system becomes more like an electronic grafiti system.
Therefore, I would suggest that we all provide as many tabs which are RELEVANT to the topic but not those which are an emotional or intellectual reaction to the topic.
Si? No?
