News reports are strongly suggesting that the U.S. Congress will cast the deciding votes on four very vital issues ALL OVER THE NEXT THREE DAYS. Now is the time for all good men and women to come to the aid of their country.
I don't know about you, but these four issues are important to me in this Congress. They really reflect the pivotal bills that could not pass in the ANY past Congress but have at least an even chance of passing in the current, more Republican Congress elected in 2004.
If these pass, there is far less in the way of truly contentious legislation - other than, say, the opening of ANWR, the flag desecration amendment, or asbestos liability - that could still pass in this Congress. (In my view, such things as Social Security privatization, medical malpractice limits, and the gay marriage amendment are DOA, and Roberts will not be filibustered, sorry.) So this week is stacking up as the week that conservatives, legislatively, have been waiting for.
