I've been struggling with what to do about this. I own this domain. When I bought it, I intended to use it, set up a blog aimed at bringing down the smug 2008 presidential candidate before he could be re-elected as governor.
I did this because the Massachusetts Dems seem to need all the help they can get. In 2002, they appeared to be too disorganized to make a real go of it, and Shannon O'Brien took the fall. But Romney has been helping us in ways we couldn't imagine.
More below the fold...
For one, nearly any time Massachusetts residents see him on the news, he's in another state. His
approval rating is in the doghouse, his major initiative to stop the stem cell bill failed spectacularly, and he's spending more time campaigning for President than he is being Governor.
The sad part is that I can see him getting re-elected, even knowing all this. Massachusetts, bluest of blue states, hasn't had a Democrat as a Governor since Mike Dukakis.
The point, the reason I registered the domain, was to get the point out that any Democrat is better than the car-salesman smile that is running us now, into the ground.
I don't want to run for Governor myself. I have no political aspirations beyond support and maybe office work. But sometimes, I look into the crystal ball and it worries me. So, I set up defeatromney.org.
Well, "set up" is perhaps an overstatement. I bought the domain name and have it hosted on a $20/year hosting plan, but I really haven't done anything with it. And now, it looks like I may not even be in Massachusetts when November 2006 rolls around.
I offered it up in the comments of the Governor's post yesterday, but I'm sure it got lost, so I'm offering it up again. Give me an email or a comment and I'll be happy to give it to someone who can make it work.
