Yesterday on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos ", Senator Schumer was quoted as saying (this in not verbatim) that even 'knowing what he knows now, he would still vote yes for the war in Iraq'. I almost fell out of my chair. Something must be done, Schumer & Clinton (Hillary was also quoted on the show saying that "pulling the troops out of Iraq now, is "not in our interests , given the sacrifices we 'have made") We finally have some in the press willing to investigate the facts and admitting their own lack of integrity in the run up to the war, support for the war even among Republicans is at an all time low and these two democratic senators strongly support it, they're HAWKS. This is indefensible, immoral and absolutely outrageous. I will personally work to unseat Clinton and Schumer until they change their view on Iraq.
Here are Senator Clinton & Senator Schumer's web mail pages:

Below are my letters to both (probably too wordy but I couldn't help myself)
Dear Senator Schumer,
I have been disappointed with your position on the Iraq war since the day you gave the President permission to start it. I was hoping you and Senator Clinton would join the growing number of Democrats who now admit their vote for the war was a mistake and would like the troops to come home. I was absolutely stunned this morning while watching Meet the Press to learn that, 'knowing what you know now, you would still vote yes for the war in Iraq.'
There are many things I have respected about you Sen. Schumer but I must admit, your statement today reflecting your position on Iraq, colors all the other positive things you have done. You seem to be disconnected from your base and support something that is an abomination. Rationalizing your support for this illegal war, proven to be based on lies, forces me to question your judgment, your commitment to the Constitution and your commitment to reflect and act in the best interests of the people you represent. We are at a turning point and I am not sure you elected officials understand how serious many of us are. In the last presidential election I worked, donated and voted for the lesser of two evils, this next time, I will follow my conscience and actively work to unseat any democrat who supports the war.
Sincerely,
S. M. Kyle
and
Dear Senator. Clinton,
I have been disappointed with your position on the Iraq war since the day you gave the President permission to start it. I was hoping you would join the growing number of Democrats who now admit their vote for war was a mistake and would like the troops to come home. "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" quoted you, stating that pulling the troops out of Iraq, is "not in our interests , given the sacrifices we 'have made". I found this statement to be very disturbing for several reasons, the first being that most of the people you represent and many who have the experience to understand war have studied the situation now believe this war is un-win-able. You yourself stated a year ago that we didn't have the troops needed to win. Your last rational for staying, for the, "sacrifices we've made", I found more disturbing. It is an insult to the brave American Soldiers who have given their lives for something undeserving of their heroic loyalty, to use them to rationalize staying, that more dead soldiers would some how make the tragic loss worth it, is irrational and insulting to the families of the fallen soldiers.
There are many things I have respected about you Sen. Clinton, I had fundraisers for your Senate run in my home, I gave money, time and worked hard for your Senate race. Unfortunately, your position on Iraq now colors all the other positive things you have done.
Sincerely,
S.M. Kyle
p.s. bloggers who don't want us to criticize democrats, save your breath. The lack of leadership in the democratic party has left this country without an opposition to the disgraceful politics of the Bush Administration for over 6 years. Waiting for the Democrats to "do the right thing" and show some courage never happens. With the exception of Harry Ried and a few others, the democrats condone, support and in this case promote the disgraceful policies of the Bush administration. Enough, I'm done. The only power I have in this mess is my vote, putting my vote together with other voters was proven to be a powerful remedy back in the early stage of the Dean campaign. Something must be done, maybe this approach is what's needed to elect democrats with the integrity the office deserves.
