Harriet Myers withdrawing is a good thing for us? Are you kidding me? Damn how dumb could this party be? Who do we think Bush will nominate now?
The information we knew about Myers is that she supported affirmative action, gay rights....sure she has some issues with abortion, but who do we think Bush will nominate that doesn't? His popularity is in the toilet, so now he has a great opportunity to rally his base again. And if he sends a wingnut, but the right is fully behind her...sure the Dems will fight, fight, fight...however they don't have the power or the votes to prevent that person from being on the Supreme Court. What is Chuck Schumer thinking? What are the people on Air America thinking? George Bush now has the opportunity to pick another Clarence Thomas. If the conservatives don't like the nominee and it's pull, shouldn't the left be a little worried about the next one. Of course!
Another thing, I think the left is getting overly excited about this Plamegate issue. No one, and I mean no one I have talked to is really following or even care about this case. Libby gets indicted great. Cheney resigns great. Rove goes to prison excellent. Even if Bush resigns terrific. This conservative reign of power is not a one person empire. Everyone knows this administration is corrupt. But how does this stop John McCain from winning in '08? By the way, if you think the conservatives will abandon John McCain...think again. Until this damn party comes up with some sort of platform to identify themselves, Washington will continue to be a one-party town. With all that is going on with the repugs...I don't get the sense that people are just ready to throw Dems back in power. Agenda...Agenda...Agenda. With the thought process of the far left that wants to rule this party, I don't don't see that happening.
