This winter tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of families struggling to put food on the table are of no concern to House republicans.
Insane. This must be the most vindictive and heart-wrenching headline I've read in awhile (and hence my first Dkos diary after months of lurking).
Even with the gloriousness of Fitzmas upon us, House republicans will never waste an opportunity to shaft the poor.
So how much does $844 million stack up against the unnecessary and no-end-in-sight Iraqmire?
68.5 hours.
That's right. Hundreds of thousands of of Americans may face uncertain hunger for themselves and families so King George the Inept can play Middle-East Risk for another 68 hours.
Being from a poor rural area of the country I can surmise that a good deal of the families that will be affected by this atrocious cut are conservatives (of the god, gays, guns variety). It is very important for Dems and Dean to point the blame squarely on their respective elected republican officials. Very important. Plaster it on billboards. We CANNOT let republican reps get away with milking the poor for Halliburton, Exxon, and MBNA's profits and turn around and swift-boat any challenger on the GGG issues. Not any more.
