Well, here is a bit of good news. Sorry if it was diaried. The latest
Quinnipiac has Bill Nelson beating Katherine Harris 57% to 33%!
Current poll:
Nelson(D):57(50)
Harris(R):33(38)
Some quick highlights:
-Democrats solidly back Nelson, 87-9. He also gets 24% of Republicans support.
-49% approval for Nelson, only 38% want him re-elected(that could be somewhat troubling).
-41% of Republicans think Harris' run will mean a Nelson victory.
-By a 57-14 margin, people think Nelson has strong leadership qualities, and 53-21 think he
cares about their problems. The numbers are drasticallt different for Harris: 41-35 and 36-40 respectively.
-On President Bush:
42 approve of him, 54 disapprove. His approval is the worst ever for him in the poll.
-55% disapprove of his handling of the war, and 53% say it was mistake.
These numbers are significant because this means Bush wont have as much of an impact(if any) on the Senate race than he did in 2002.
