This is the true cast:
Me-life long liberal not afraid to speak my mind.
My wife - Was very conservative until met me and now is moderate (the constitution copy under her pillow is working through osmosis)
In Laws - very nice hardworking people who are very very conservative, believe Limbaugh and blame everything wrong today on "the Hippies" from the 60's - they respect my opinion and I theirs, and basically agree we will not change each other's minds so we have a good relationship.
Everyone is looking forward to thanksgiving so I can meet the "Conservative" side of the family...described below:
Aunt #1 - President of the Idaho John Birch Society (I kid you not), known to get angry at any liberal thoughts...I am wearing a "Don't Blame Me I voted for Gore and Kerry" button to dinner
Uncle #1 - Also member of JB Society and Associate Pastor at Idaho Church...I am also wearing my "Straight but not Narrow" t-shirt to dinner...
Uncle #2 - Lives two blocks from Denis Hastert and thinks he is doing a fantastic job...I am bringing a copy of Obama's Eulogy for Rosa Parks
Aunt #2 - Uber Conservative, cannot be interrupted during O'Reilly, Hannity or Rush (its true - she locks her door) yet believes in "auras" that surround the body - can diagnose illness by pushing on your arm but swears abortion causes breast cancer...not sure how to deal with her...
I do have a large supply of assorted liberal bumper stickers to apply to their vehicles before they leave :>
With that lineup - wish me luck - any suggestions are aprreciated. Graciously, my wife and In Laws have given me the green light to have any discussion on any topic!!!!
I hope we get through the appetizers!!
