While it would be great to believe that Bush's numbers will continue to go down in the dumps as the public wakes up and discovers what a horrific president he is, I have little faith of that happening.
For the past several months the democrats have had a seemly endless supply of news coverage which they were able to use to bash Bush, because of the really heated primary season. Basically we have had an incredible opportunity to show the American people what kind of a corrupt, lying, idiot we have in the White House.
And, we have had a hell of alot going in our favor including the lack of jobs, the WMD report, Bush's treasury sec. screwing him, etc.
However, I do expect with the current economic projections that the economy and the job situation will be looking better to American's this summer and fall. And, the end of the endless free coverage thanks to the dem primaries that Bush's numbers will move back up, how much remains to be seen. Also, the big question mark is Iraq of course, if the resistance pulls off a Beirut or the body count goes up to about 2-3 a day Bush is screwed, if things are looking better my guess is it will be mostly a non-issue. Of course there are always big unknowns like another terrorist attack or Osama being killed or captured.
But, right now I think we have to prepare ourselves for the possiblity that Bush's numbers are not going to continue to fall apart as they have been mostly doing for the past two months. Sure, it would be great if Bush were in the 30s by this summer, but we should not be banking on it.
