Just now on Newsnight: a report from Dulce in Iowa, hot on the trail of the Great Dean Records Flap.
Anyway, after Candy's report, during the usual Q&A, Aaron Brown asked her what the status is with Bush's gubernatorial records, saying he recalled that Bush had moved them into daddy's presidential library for safe-keeping. Well, Candy explains, actually it turns out that Bush's records are open and available, according to an archivist in Texas. From what she's heard, anybody can go and check them out, although she thinks that some stuff might require FOI requests and could take a while. Not that she's actually tried, apparently, but she's heard from someone or other that everything is okey dokey with Bush's records in Texas, move right along Aaron, that's not what this story is about. Ahem.
But rest assured Candy will continue to stand by in Iowa and speculate about how much this will hurt Dean. She says only a little bit so far.
